The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (MANUA) issued a declaration Welcoming the ceasefire between the two sides announced on Wednesday after a week of cross-border clashes and airstrikes in the Afghan capital, Kabul.

Although UNAMA is still assessing the exact number of civilian casualties, reports indicate that at least 17 people were killed and 346 injured in Spin Boldak.
It also reported at least one civilian killed and 15 injured following earlier cross-border clashes in Paktika, Patkya, Kunar and Helmand provinces.
