The Institute for Gender Equality today publishes new figures on the pay gap. In Belgium, the wage gap still stands at 7.0%, after correction for working hours. Without correction for working hours, it reaches 19.5%. In the private sector, the corrected wage gap reaches 10.1%, and 24.5% without correction. These inequalities can be explained by various factors: part-time work, age, level of education, marital status and household composition, nationality or origin, as well as persistent segregation in the labor market.
