Inauguration of the New Headquarters

The inauguration of the Stadtwerke Stuttgart headquarters marks the culmination of 18 months of collaborative planning and implementation. This state-of-the-art facility brings together Siemens’ sustainable infrastructure solutions and Stadtwerke Stuttgart’s renewable energy supply capabilities.

Applications from Siemens Xcelerator, an open digital business platform, control the intelligent energy management system across the office complex, warehouse, and workshop. This system optimally connects the supply and demand for renewable energy, covering everything from heating and lighting to elevators and office equipment. Additionally, it powers the mobility hub, which charges electric vehicles from the Stadtwerke Stuttgart fleet.

Expanding Intelligent Energy Solutions

The innovative combination of digital applications and renewable energy supply will also be applied to other Stadtwerke Stuttgart projects, including a hydrogen production facility in the city’s port. This expansion showcases how businesses can maximize sector coupling to achieve cost-effective, energy-efficient, and sustainable operations.

Advanced Building Management with Digital Twin Technology

At the core of Siemens’ building management system is intelligent Digital Twin technology. Siemens Smart Infrastructure’s Building X 360° Viewer and Energy Manager provide digital representations of the headquarters, utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) to process real-time data from building and e-mobility technologies. Building X is a digital platform that helps customers digitalize, manage, and optimize building operations.

From Internet of Things (IoT) sensors for lighting control to fire protection and security applications, these insights can achieve energy savings of up to 30 percent and generate up to 10 percent more net operating income. In the mobility hub, for example, electric vehicle charging is optimized to use available renewable energy, ensuring that charging is complete by the end of each workday.
