Immediate risk of mass starvation in Gaza and attacks on humanitarian aid deliveries
In a resolution put to a vote at midday, MEPs denounce the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza, including the risk of imminent starvation. They are set to call on Israel to open all crossings to Gaza for humanitarian aid and to urge all parties to immediately cease attacks on civilians seeking aid. The debate took place yesterday.

Right to abortion
At 9.00, plenary will debate with Commissioner Ferreira on including the right to abortion in the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights. A resolution will be put to a vote during the 10 – 11 April session.

Updating EU animal welfare rules
In a debate with Commissioner Ferreira at around 10.00, MEPs are expected to demand a clear timeline regarding the announced revision of EU animal welfare legislation, particularly on the welfare of animals kept for economic purposes, the protection of animals at the time of slaughter, and animal welfare labelling.

In brief
Human Rights in Afghanistan and Venezuela. Following yesterday’s debates, MEPs will vote on resolutions concerning repression in Afghanistan, including public executions and violence against women, and on the situation of political prisoners in Venezuela.
Living conditions in the EU. From around 11.45, MEPs will debate with Commissioner Schmit and the Belgian Council Presidency the deterioration of living conditions in the EU.

- the Special Measure in favour of Tunisia for 2023;
- the creation of a European initiative for an annual designation of European capitals for children;
- the agreement with Albania on operational activities carried out by the European Border and Coast Guard Agency in Albania;

- returning Romanian national treasure illegally appropriated by Russia;
- Cohesion policy 2014-2020 – implementation and outcomes in member states;
- a resolution on the time the European Commission takes to deal with requests for public access to documents; and
- the nomination of Carlo Alberto Manfredi Selvaggi as a member of the Court of Auditors .
